Back in My Go Mode

Ever since the 09 has come, music production has slowly faded and drifted. Now that graduation has past, all the after graduation stuff is pretty much done with, i've just been itching to get back into my first love. The other night, i was shuffling through the itunes and came across some samples I decided to play around with, just to see if i still got it alil bit. So the last night, had a little late night inspiration/motivation, and hit the basement. Fired up that MPC, and banged out a quick sample/drum and bass beat. Nothing real crazy, but i like it so i was kind of happy. Some others i pulled out were groups like
Crown Height Affair (good look shermon/ charles), Rockie Robbins, Roy Ayers, Casiopea, etc.

I really need a new setup, Reason, new sounds, a synth, a workstation, new mpc, some new crisp drum samples, the hole 9....new sounds, new stuff, keeps me fresh

A Fork In The Road

Its April 1st: Senior year is almost up, spring break is almost here, for some, the door of spring break is just cracking up. The 3rd quarter has ended, life is pretty much on auto pilot right now doing what ever I please. I've realized though that I've hit a fork in the road. Next year I do plan to go to college. All my acceptances that I wanted are in, it's just come down to what is for me, the hardest part of all: picking a school!

People all around are set and settled for the most part on where they see themselves going to school next year. My situation could be way worse, but luckily I've avoided those problems. So far, out of the 12 schools I applied to, I've been able to narrow it down to a top 4: Virginia Commonwealth University, Rutgers University, DePaul University, & St. Johns University. Half of me is torn on whether or not I should stay in-state or not. The other half is just completely lost. I struggle everyday with the fact of where do I see myself. Do I see myself in the middle of Chicago, during the harsh winter season? Do I see my self being in Jersey or Queens & making trips into manhattan with my free time? What really do I want to study in school? What kind of people do i want to surround myself? EtC. I ask myself daily hundreds of questions but I just don't know what I'm really looking for. Friends try to influence me one way or the other but in this decision, it's going to have to be made 100% on me. Hopefully, after taking my last few college visits, I will have enough to base a decision off of, but until then, ill continue to dillydally at this fork in the road.

¡Blah!: Living For The Weekend

With only so much time left in high school to go, every day of the week, im just counting down days for the weekend. The past few weekends, we had a few birthdays go past (Me & Bingo). And we had our self a lil fun, if we didnt have fun, we definately had a story to tell. Unfortunately, every weekend isn't the best but the past few were fun. Each weekend should be described as getting twizzy, girls booty shaking, taking the very freaky girls back to the "so icy compound (YEAAAA)" :-D, wake up and hit the stores, chill all day, and do it all over again.

(Stanky Leg....LLS)

Another week of school is coming up, and already, im tryna plan my weekend. Even looking towards summer time and spring break. Be prepared because we're really trying to find a spot to lock for parties. But for now, i'm looking forward to see what's in store for the upcoming weekend.

Life: 8 hours of Traffic School...

Feb 28.09, was predicted in my mind to be a shitty and dreadful day, turned out though, it wasn't so bad after all...Due to my BS letter received from the DMV making me go to an 8 hour traffic school session or else, I chose today to do my time. I woke up feeling like Oscar the Grouch with boogers falling out my nose. I got to traffic school expecting it to be a man talking for 8 hours straight and me being forced to listen. I was suprised to find that this was not going to be the case. I went into that hotel conference room and felt like i was in an AA meeting. There were characters all over that room. It had the 2 crazy funny mother and son (who cursed like sailors) running the class, old ladys, funny spanish dudes, smoke head teenagers, and a new yorker. We talked about so much about drugs, alcohol, cars, police ,the military, people falling out planes, and especially weed, it mad the time fly. New Yorkers who still talk like there from NYC, might be the funniest, especially when they got some hood in em. The instructor asked us, does weed or other drugs, after the high has worn off effect the way you drive. This dude from the bronx, went on about how"....well I mean it depends whatch yous been smokin on, if you was hittin that bumbookie shit then hell no, but i mean if you was hittin that FIRE then helll yea you na im sayin". That instructor was so lost, his face was priceless. The entire class was filled with characters and made me laugh which made my punishment breeze by. I still say F the Police, and i hope i dont have to run into that again, might get find myself bribing the instructor, telling him code names, or getting called almond 'cause "my name aint no damn almond"

Life: F the Police

Over the 2 years i've had a license, I've gone through a series of run-ins with the law. The first time i was furious for the circumstance i got pulled over under. I was so mad, the only way to relieve my stress was by playing Grand Theft Auto, killing all the cops I saw, while listening to some music. I went to court and was let off the hook because the officer dropped the charge. The next time i got pulled over, was by a real annoying black cop who i happen to run into everywhere now. He got me over a third of a mile away going 17 mph over...Judge gave me traffic school. Now this time, i get clocked in 16mph over, apparently at the time, school zone lights were still on infront of a high school, where the students left over an hour prior. This time, i just paid the ticket hoping to just receive the points but little did i know a little letter was soon addressed for me to do another TRAFFIC SCHOOL! I cant understand the cops in northern virginia. The bother teenagers everywhere around here, so much so that they have a cop every weekend just sitting in the mcdonalds, to make sure people don't loiter...give me a break, PLEASE

Life: Valentines Day

Feb. 14Th, in the past i been like valentines day is just another day of another month. This year was alittle different. Definitely opened my eyes. I see Valentines day as a day to get your game going alil bit more. To "cute" and flirtatious. For some people, time to go in and take chances, some to re-strenghten there bonds with there special someone and others just dont like it and see it as another day... The day overall the day was pretty good, to all those lovers, happy valentines day :)

Life: Natures Comedy Aging & Family

This weekend, I went to philly for my grandma and great aunts birthday celebrations at the church. Wow did I notice alot of things. Aging might be the funniest. When people get old, they say things that aren't ment to be funny, but with my family, they come out so funny. From the older "sister" of the church trying to sing (lady in the red with the unexplained hair dew), to the bad little kids, to the church member in a red suit with the 1979 jerry curl going ( my man looked like sexual chocolate off of Coming to America), to aunt cooking everyone in what there doing and wearing, to my Great Aunts comment of the night about my grandmas african husband..."Praise the lord yall....Hes from africa" as the man was trying to speak( he has a heavy accent, really hard to understand)...the entire weekend was day was fun and i love them all to death. I cant wait to get that age

Life: Dancing vs Beer Pong...

VS .

I don't think i'll ever understand this battle. To me the choice would be clear, dance + drinks, not a game where you throw balls at cups. It may be a cultural thing, but unfortunately, i'm surrounded by "bp parties". It might be fun to play a few times every now and then but not every weekend, I'd much rather get my meat grinded on then throw ping pongs, tell i cant stand. Wouldnt some one much rather get there drink on and start freakin? I dont know, its an on going mystery that i've learned to except..... Just a thought

1.20.09 Historic: Stussy + Commonwealth DC

Add ImageThe legendary
9th Wonder
was on the tables

Bun B, Wale, and 9th Wonder were the special guest

Monday Jan. 19th. 2009, Stussy + Commonwealth down in NW Washington, DC had a celebration in honor of President Barack, the nations first African American president. They had Bun B & Wale come through and a few more people showed up. People like Dizzy, David Banner, Charles Hamilton, 9th Wonder.
The whole vibe was so positive and real. The Stussy was filled with sneakerheads, music lovers, and culture. From the line to the end we had a story.. Bad ass lil kids out side, cold weather, mad police (DC was on LOCK that weekend), Bun B cookin some 992s haha, white girls, etc.
