Bruno: THE MOVIE

Bruno Official Trailer (R-rated!)

Ok a few years back, the funny brit, Sasha baron Cohen came out with his famous character Borat. This summer, hes doing a movie with another one of his famous characters, the gay austrian reporter Bruno. I'm not going lie, when some one in class told me this was being made into a movie, I had to see. Anyone who has watched the Ali G Show knows who Bruno is and how rediculous he is. Think what you want but haha I cant wait to see how rediculous he gets in this one. The movies expected to come out July 10th

Winter 09 Retro XIs

This year it seems like Jordan is pushing out 12s big time. So far, scheduled for the 09, they've the got Nubucks coming out soon, and now they've announced that come winter season, they plan to retro the all whites, black and red, and white and red XIIs. For me the white and red XIIs are the best but everyones entitled to their own opinion

Nas X 9th Wonder?

On 2dopeboyz today, i come across a huge headliner that reads, 9th wonder makes a beat for Nas. The beat they made was tough, i could definitely hear that beat for Nas. Its a smooth, sounds like a barry white sample, beat with the 9th wonder, hip hop feel. A Nas & 9th Wonder Collaboration, is something I look forward to looking to see sometime soon.

¡Blah!: ANOTHER?!

Wow. I was on 2dopeboyz the other day, and I see, ANOTHER rapper that has a problem with Mr. Charles Hamilton. This time DCs own, a local favorite, Wale. This was kind a shock, only due to the fact that about 3 months prior, I saw them chilling at Stussy/Commonwealth at the Inauguration Party. All I Can say is: "WELP"...things that go on between rappers just is what it is. I mean the music is really the most important part but its always interesting to pay attention to what's going on. Speaking of which look out for or go out and download/buy:
The Manuel by Rhymefest (already out)
Back to The Feature by Wale (4/29)
Asleep In The Bread Aisle by Asher Roth (4/20)
Jacques Jams by Chester French
Gone Fishing by The Cool Kids & DJ Don Cannon
Cuban Linx 2 by Raekwon (this summer)
Flght School by Wiz Khalifa
This Aint No Mixtape by Currency
and many more to come...

DC Chillin

Photobucket

So Wale came to VA and being apart of the DMV you know we had to show him some love, so me and my boys made the 2 hour which turned into 4 hour trip to Richmond due to traffic and BS to see Wale and UCB. He throws a pretty decent show and we were lucky to get a "Chillin" tee given to us by Wale,

which was a sz extra super duper small which probably wouldnt come over my head.

One thing that caught my eye and ears while waiting 2 hours for Wale to appear on stage added on to the 4 hour drive, was artist Colin Munoe. His verison of Flashing Lights remixed offically with permission of Kanye West shows that he's not only talented playing the drums and switching off to keyboard while singing but is an uprising artist with a hell of a voice and can entertain a crowd. At first i was judgemental because of the emo look but this dude has more "soul then a sock with a hole". He will be featured on Wale's upcoming album Attention: Deficit

What did 2g wear today?

So following Dizzy and DMVerons daily updates on what there rockin up in DC and MD heres whats being thrown on in VA. Commonwealth Cap, Mos Def Brooklyn Sly Tee, 501 Levis with some Retro 4's, and of course the traditional G-Shock.

¡Blah!: Kanye shows love back

APPRECIATION SHOUT OUT FROM HAWAII from kwest on Vimeo.

While stunting in Hawaii, Kanye reaches out to all those who camped out and slept out and purchased a pair of his NIke Air Yeezys....If you read my camp out experience a few days ago, you could probably understand why I said, "asshole" when I saw this video. If I had got my pair, different story, but look what he did! He did a good job hyping his shoe up and keeping em limited or what not though...All  Im saying is, next month when the Black/Pink Air Yeezys drop, i'll be out there again, and I better get my pair....

Poke Her Face

Looking at Kanye University today, I stumbled across some new Kid Cudi...songs called I Poke Her Face by Kid Cudi ft. Kanye West & Common

I like the song and the verses are tough... Kanye's verse reminds me of the older him alittle bit and thats the thing i like about it most, but take a listen yourself and see...

Mission Air Yeezy

April 4th, the first release date of the highly anticipate, long awaited, Nike Air Yeezy by Kanye West dropped and you know that we were out camping for those. In the DC to B More Area, 5 spots got 'em. Out of those 5 we stopped at 4 of 'em trying to get a pair. April 4th, at 1:35 am, the crew left out for the city and hit what we felt was going to be a more chill spot due to its location, the DTLR on Minnesota AVE, Southeast DC...we showed up a little disappointed to see about 18 people already lined up. Next stop was PG Plaza, said to be our safest bet. About 15 minutes away, we found this to be true. We only saw about 10 people. This was around am. We hung out all night, most of em slept but I stayed up and wait. Around 5am, we hit up McDonald's, and just chilled in the Benz. Sun rise came, and we were out by the door. We were told the doors to the mall were to open at 7am, which was a lie. The security guard came around and told everyone the doors would be open at 10 and the Target would be open at 8am. The anticipation kept rising every minute as the crowd of sneaker heads and hype bums kept growing. The doors to target op end at 8 and to my surprise out of the 40 people ready to run into the mall, only about 10 of us went to target. Some were told that the mall doors would open before the door to target would so every went to one entrance. Me, Bingo, Paul hung out in target and at 9am the door opened and we hit jets to DTLR. I'm not gonna lie I slipped and busted my shit on the title, hat flew off, but Paul & I were proud holders of number 3 and 5 in the line. Most the people who had been there all night were towards the front but some were less fortunate. UNFORTUNATELY, to an unpleasant surprise, this line didn't mean anything. The african security guard, claimed he had a list of 16 names of people who were there first. At PG Plaza, the security office is at the back of the mall, so majority of us had no idea. We were informed earlier in the night that they had started a list in the back but when we went, the security said, the list was already full and that everyone else would have to line up. Do to the anger and yelling arising, Prince George Police officers showed up to help control crowd. After 15 minutes of arguing and thinking, the managers of DTLR decided they would allow those 16 people to buy there pair and have the rest of us in a raffle for 8 pair...such BS! Of course, none of our names were called so MISSION AIR YEEZY went from IN THE BAG, to EPIC FAIL. Later that day, we hit Commonwealth on Florida Ave and yet again, the luck of the draw didn't go in our favor...now it looks like all we can do is be better prepared and ready for the next released one next month. Overall the night was fun and the camp experience was straight....next time, well be ready, you can bet that.

A Fork In The Road

Its April 1st: Senior year is almost up, spring break is almost here, for some, the door of spring break is just cracking up. The 3rd quarter has ended, life is pretty much on auto pilot right now doing what ever I please. I've realized though that I've hit a fork in the road. Next year I do plan to go to college. All my acceptances that I wanted are in, it's just come down to what is for me, the hardest part of all: picking a school!

People all around are set and settled for the most part on where they see themselves going to school next year. My situation could be way worse, but luckily I've avoided those problems. So far, out of the 12 schools I applied to, I've been able to narrow it down to a top 4: Virginia Commonwealth University, Rutgers University, DePaul University, & St. Johns University. Half of me is torn on whether or not I should stay in-state or not. The other half is just completely lost. I struggle everyday with the fact of where do I see myself. Do I see myself in the middle of Chicago, during the harsh winter season? Do I see my self being in Jersey or Queens & making trips into manhattan with my free time? What really do I want to study in school? What kind of people do i want to surround myself? EtC. I ask myself daily hundreds of questions but I just don't know what I'm really looking for. Friends try to influence me one way or the other but in this decision, it's going to have to be made 100% on me. Hopefully, after taking my last few college visits, I will have enough to base a decision off of, but until then, ill continue to dillydally at this fork in the road.
